Dr. Fariha Alam

Dr Fariha Alam is an Interventional Respiratory and Sleep Physician who grew up in Toowoomba and completed her medical degree at Monash University in Melbourne. She undertook her physician training in Brisbane at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, followed by advanced training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital.She has also completed specialist training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and an Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth.

Dr Alam currently holds a public hospital appointment as a Respiratory Physician with Metro North Health in Brisbane, and is a Senior Lecturer (Academic Title Holder) with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland.

Special Interests:
Dr Alam is dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including chronic cough, obstructive
airways disease, lung infections, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disorders, respiratory complications in the immunocompromised, and sleep apnoea.
Her sub-specialty interests include lung nodules, lung cancer, mediastinal lymphadenopathy and the full spectrum of pleural disease.

Dr Alam also performs advanced bronchoscopic and interventional pulmonology procedures at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
