Dr Moe Thuzar

Dr Moe Thuzar is a Staff Specialist Endocrinologist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and a Senior Lecturer within the Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland.

Dr Thuzar undertook her physician training at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, and specialist training in Endocrinology at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Townsville Hospital and Nambour Hospital. She received Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in early 2014. She then worked for one year as an Endocrine fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital before taking her current appointment as a Staff Specialist Endocrinologist.

Dr Thuzar is committed to providing patient-centred specialist care in all areas of Diabetes and Endocrinology including thyroid, parathyroid, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary diseases for adult patients.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr Thuzar has a passion for medical education and research. She has completed a research doctoral degree (PhD) via the School of Medicine, UQ. Her research investigates how hormones affect metabolic and cardiovascular health  in humans. She has received numerous awards from various professional societies including the US Endocrine Society, Endocrine Society of Australia, Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society, Australasian Women in Endocrinology, Australian Society of Medical Research.
