Dr Simone Ramsay is a General Surgeon with a special interest in conditions of the colon and rectum, and particularly functional issues of prolapse and incontinence. 

Dr Ramsay trained in Queensland, and undertook a fellowship in Acute surgery and Colorectal Surgery at the Royal Hobart Hospital. She also undertook an extended observership at the Western General Hospital in Scotland – one of the largest Colorectal and Pelvic Floor units in the UK. 

Dr Ramsay is trained and accredited by the Conjoint Committee for performing Colonoscopy. 

Dr Ramsay operates at the Mater Redlands Private Hospital, as well as working at the Logan and Redlands Public Hospitals and Redlands Specialist Centre.

I see patients for

– Colonoscopy to investigate bowel problems
– Rectal bleeding
– Haemorrhoids
– Perianal abscesses and fistulas
– Faecal incontinence
– Bowel cancer
– Skin lesions, including melanoma
– Hernias
– Gall stones

I offer fixed price excision of skin lesions in my rooms, for suitable patients.
I am also available to provide in house education for General Practitioners on surgical topics by
request.
