Dr Nabeel Sheikh
Dr Nabeel Sheikh is a Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. He completed his postgraduate Neurology training in Queensland at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s and the Gold Coast University Hospitals. He was awarded the RBWH Foundation Research Scholarship. He received project grants for his research project on Quantitative EEG in Stroke from the National Stroke Foundation and the RBWH Research Foundation. He did his MBBS from the King Edward Medical College, Pakistan. He was recipient of the Government Merit scholarship throughout his undergraduate degree. He also holds a Bachelor in Basic Medical Sciences.
Dr. Sheikh is passionate about all areas of clinical neurology with a keen focus on:
- Botulinum toxin treatment for various neurological conditions such as craniofacial pain syndromes (e.g., chronic migraine, trigeminal neuralgia and post-herpetic neuralgia), cervical and limb dystonias, tremor and spasticity.
- Neurophysiology (nerve conduction studies and electromyography for nerve and muscle disorders)
- Headache disorders including migraine
He has a wide experience in Hyperacute Stroke and other various cerebrovascular diseases. He is also avidly interested in movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease and tremor), epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
